The Romans had no idea who this man named Jesus really was. To them he was just a Jewish carpenter, a troublemaker, nobody special. They tortured him acting out of their ignorance that he was the Messiah, The Son of God. Ignorance is no excuse in a court of law and we learn from Scripture the same is true when we act out of our ignorance.
As people were confronted by Jesus they all had to make a decision of how they would respond even if they did not realize they were making this decision. This week we look at how the Roman Soldiers simply dismissed Jesus as another man in the crowd and while sitting at the foot of the cross they completely missed seeing their Savior.
