When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. \u201cAt midnight they were roused by the shout, \u2018Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet him!\u2019 \u201cAll the bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps. Then the five foolish ones asked the others, \u2018Please give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out.\u2019 \u201cBut the others replied, \u2018We don\u2019t have enough for all of us. Go to a shop and buy some for yourselves.\u2019 &nbsp;\u201cBut while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. &nbsp;Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, \u2018Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!\u2019 \u201cBut he called back, \u2018Believe me, I don\u2019t know you!\u2019 \u201cSo you, too, must keep watch!
