It brought some unique challenges that I haven\u2019t had to navigate in my lifetime, and most people alive haven\u2019t had to deal with either. But through all the craziness we still have one thing to see us through. Gods Word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are some things that we, as believers, can and should leave behind since we have this fresh start. There are also some things that we need to make sure we are bringing with us into this new year. That is what we\u2019re going to explore this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,&nbsp;but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,&nbsp;I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp; Philippians 3:13-14 NLT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>We can\u2019t let our past keep us from what God is calling us to do Today.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>We must run the race that <u>GOD<\/u> set out for us.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth<\/em>.&nbsp; Colossians 3:2 NLT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off&nbsp;your old self,&nbsp;which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;&nbsp;to be made new in the attitude of your minds;&nbsp;and to put on&nbsp;the new self,&nbsp;created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp; Ephesians 4:22-24 NLT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>We have to allow God to make us New!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cForget the former things; do not dwell on the past.&nbsp; See, I am doing a new thing!&nbsp; Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?&nbsp; I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.&nbsp;<\/em>&nbsp; Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know that our instinct is to often run back to what is familiar, but is that what\u2019s best- what God wants? Or maybe you are stuck between where you are now and where you want to be- change is tough, but we can get through it with the Lord directing us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Letting go of things can be hard!
