{"id":7048,"date":"2022-04-03T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-03T15:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/loah.org\/marsd\/?post_type=ctc_sermon&#038;p=7048"},"modified":"2022-04-09T10:09:58","modified_gmt":"2022-04-09T15:09:58","slug":"winning-the-war-in-our-minds","status":"publish","type":"ctc_sermon","link":"https:\/\/loah.org\/marsd\/sermons\/winning-the-war-in-our-minds\/","title":{"rendered":"Winning The War In Our Minds"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>Most of Life\u2019s Battles are Won or Lost in our Mind<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can\u2019t.&nbsp;19&nbsp;I want to do what is good, but I don\u2019t. I don\u2019t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.&nbsp;20&nbsp;But if I do what I don\u2019t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. 21&nbsp;I have discovered this principle of life\u2014that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.&nbsp;22&nbsp;I love God\u2019s law with all my heart.&nbsp;23&nbsp;But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.&nbsp;24&nbsp;Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?&nbsp;25&nbsp;Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God\u2019s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp; Romans 7:18-21<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We are human, but we don\u2019t wage war as humans do.&nbsp;4 We use God\u2019s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.&nbsp;5&nbsp;We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp; 2 Corinthians10:3-5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>Our Live will move in the Direction of our Strongest Thoughts<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For as he thinks in his heart, so&nbsp;is&nbsp;he. \u201cEat and drink!\u201d&nbsp;he says to you, But his heart is not with you.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>What\u2019s in Our Minds will Come out In our Lives<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cEither make the tree good and&nbsp;its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by&nbsp;its&nbsp;fruit.&nbsp;34&nbsp;Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things?&nbsp;For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.&nbsp;35&nbsp;A good man out of the good treasure&nbsp;of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.&nbsp;36&nbsp;But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.&nbsp;37&nbsp;For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.\u201d<\/em>&nbsp; Matthew 12:33-37<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>You Cannot Have A Positive Life When You Have a Negative Mind<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.<\/em>&nbsp; 2 Peter 1:3<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Jesus said to the people who believed in him,&nbsp;\u201cYou are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings.&nbsp;32&nbsp;And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.\u201d&nbsp; 33&nbsp;\u201cBut we are descendants of Abraham,\u201d they said. \u201cWe have never been slaves to anyone. What do you mean, \u2018You will be set free\u2019?\u201d&nbsp; 34&nbsp;Jesus replied,&nbsp;\u201cI tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.&nbsp;35&nbsp;A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever.&nbsp;36&nbsp;So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; John 8:31-36<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most of Life\u2019s Battles are Won or Lost in our Mind And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.
