His disciples came to him,&nbsp;2&nbsp;and he began to teach them. The Beatitudes He said: 3&nbsp;\u201cBlessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4&nbsp;Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5&nbsp;Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6&nbsp;Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7&nbsp;Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8&nbsp;Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9&nbsp;Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>Matthew 5:1-9<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Are You A Peacemaker Or A Peacekeeper?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>So Obadiah went to tell Ahab that Elijah had come, and Ahab went out to meet Elijah.17When Ahab saw him, he exclaimed, \u201cSo, is it really you, you troublemaker of Israel?\u201d 18\u201cI have made no trouble for Israel,\u201d Elijah replied. \u201cYou and your family are the troublemakers, for you have refused to obey the commands of the Lord and have worshipped the images of Baal instead.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>1 Kings 18:16-18<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>About that time King Ben-hadad of Aram mobilized his army, supported by the chariots and horses of thirty-two allied kings. They went to besiege Samaria, the capital of Israel, and launched attacks against it. 2Ben-hadad sent messengers into the city to relay this message to King Ahab of Israel: \u201cThis is what Ben-hadad says: 3\u2018Your silver and gold are mine, and so are your wives and the best of your children!\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>4\u201cAll right, my lord the king,\u201d Israel\u2019s king replied. \u201cAll that I have is yours!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>5Soon Ben-hadad\u2019s messengers returned again and said, \u201cThis is what Ben-hadad says: \u2018I have already demanded that you give me your silver, gold, wives, and children. 6But about this time tomorrow I will send my officials to search your palace and the homes of your officials. They will take away everything you consider valuable!\u2019\u201d 7Then Ahab summoned all the elders of the land and said to them, \u201cLook how this man is stirring up trouble! I already agreed with his demand that I give him my wives and children and silver and gold.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>1 Kings 20:1-7<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>If We Allow God to Work In and Through Us, He Can Make Peace<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!&nbsp;5&nbsp;Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.&nbsp;6&nbsp;Do not be anxious about anything,&nbsp;but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.&nbsp;7&nbsp;And the peace of God,&nbsp;which transcends all understanding,&nbsp;will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>Philippians 4:4-7<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Peacemaking Is The Privilege of Those Who Are At Peace With God<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp; Matthew 5:9<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Peacemaking Is The Privilege of Those Who Are At Peace With Others<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you,&nbsp;24&nbsp;leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>Matthew 5:23-24<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Peacemaking Is The Privilege of Those Who Are At Peace With Themselves<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ. 14&nbsp;For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>Ephesians 2:13-14<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Peacemakers&nbsp;who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>James 3:18<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down.
