And surely <strong>I am with you always<\/strong>, to the very end of the age.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><strong>Matthew 28:19-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples,&nbsp;\u201cLet\u2019s cross to the other side of the lake.\u201d&nbsp;So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed).&nbsp;But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em><strong>Mark 4:35-37<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>1. Sometimes God allows storms not to discipline us, but to disciple us.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, \u201cTeacher, don\u2019t you care that we\u2019re going to drown?\u201d When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves,&nbsp;\u201cSilence! Be still!\u201d&nbsp;Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.&nbsp;Then he asked them,&nbsp;\u201cWhy are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?\u201d The disciples were absolutely terrified. \u201cWho is this man?\u201d they asked each other. \u201cEven the wind and waves obey him!\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em><strong>Mark 4:38-41<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Jesus came and told his disciples,&nbsp;\u201cI have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.&nbsp;Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,&nbsp;baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.&nbsp;Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em><strong>Matthew 28:18-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>2. Sometimes God allows us to be in a storm to be the Light for others.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This is the message we heard from Jesus\u00a0and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.\u00a0So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.\u00a0But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.<\/em><strong><em> John 1:5-7<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Dear brothers and sisters,&nbsp;when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.&nbsp;For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>James 1:2-3<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
