A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road. When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth was nearby, he began to shout, \u201cJesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!\u201d \u201cBe quiet!\u201d many of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, \u201cSon of David, have mercy on me!When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said,&nbsp;\u201cTell him to come here.\u201d So they called the blind man. \u201cCheer up,\u201d they said. \u201cCome on, he\u2019s calling you!\u201d&nbsp;Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus. \u201cWhat do you want me to do for you?\u201d&nbsp;Jesus asked. \u201cMy Rabbi,\u201d the blind man said, \u201cI want to see! And Jesus said to him,&nbsp;\u201cGo, for your faith has healed you.\u201d&nbsp;Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road.&nbsp; <\/em>Mark 10:46-52<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>They were now on the way up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. The disciples were filled with awe, and the people following behind were overwhelmed with fear. Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus once more began to describe everything that was about to happen to him.&nbsp; \u201cListen,\u201d&nbsp;he said,&nbsp;\u201cwe\u2019re going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man&nbsp;will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die and hand him over to the Romans.&nbsp;They will mock him, spit on him, flog him with a whip, and kill him, but after three days he will rise again.\u201d&nbsp; <\/em>Mark 10:33-36<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>Mark 10:13 NIV&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>The Question: \u201cWhat do you want me to do for you?\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em><sup>&nbsp;<\/sup><\/em><em>\u201cWhat do you want me to do for you?\u201d&nbsp;Jesus asked. \u201cMy Rabbi,\u201d the blind man said, \u201cI want to see!\u201d&nbsp; Mark 10:51<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. \u201cTeacher,\u201d they said, \u201cwe want you to do for us whatever we ask.\u201d<\/em> <em>\u201cWhat do you want me to do for you?\u201d&nbsp;he asked.&nbsp; <\/em>Mark 10:35-36<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>The Response: \u201cMy Rabbi, I want to see.\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God\u2019s creation.&nbsp; \u201cI know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot.&nbsp; I wish you were either one or the other!&nbsp; So, because you are luke-warm \u2013 neither hot nor cold \u2013 I am about to spit you out of my mouth.&nbsp; You say, \u2018I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.\u2019 But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked\u2026\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp; Rev. 3:14-17&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Jesus said, \u201cFor judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.\u201d&nbsp; Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, \u201cWhat?&nbsp; Are we blind too?\u201d&nbsp; Jesus said, \u201cIf you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em>John 9:39<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Question About Desire Then they reached Jericho, and as Jesus and his disciples left town, a large crowd followed him.
