Celebrating Five Years of Faithful Service

This past Sunday morning, the Light On A Hill Church family took a few moments during our worship service to celebrate a special occasion. Our Associate Pastor, Jesse Loew, is celebrating both his birthday and five years since his ordination into ministry.

What made the occasion even more special was that it was a complete surprise! For several weeks, church members had been working on something for Jesse, and somehow everyone managed to keep it a secret from Jesse, his wife Amber, and their son River.

During the service, Pastor Tommy Sprinkle presented Jesse with a beautiful leather prayer journal. But this was no ordinary journal. The first several pages were filled with handwritten prayers from members of the church family.

As Pastor Tommy explained, serving in ministry is not always easy. There are times when the enemy tries to bring discouragement, causing those who serve to wonder if all the time, effort, and sacrifices are really worth it. The prayers written in this journal are meant to be a reminder during those difficult times that Jesse is loved, appreciated, and being lifted up in prayer by his church family.

The journal also contains plenty of blank pages where Jesse can continue to write his own prayers, thoughts, and reflections in the years ahead.

Jesse was certainly surprised, and it was wonderful to see his excitement and thankfulness as he received this special gift.

Over these past five years, Jesse has faithfully served Light On A Hill Church. Whether he is teaching God’s Word, encouraging someone, or simply lending a helping hand with something that needs to be done, he has shown a willingness to serve in so many ways.

We are thankful not only for Jesse, but also for Amber and River, who are such an important part of our church family.

Happy Birthday, Jesse, and thank you for five years of faithful service!

Our prayer is that God will continue to strengthen and encourage you, especially during the difficult days. May He remind you often that your labor in the Lord is never in vain, and may He bless you, Amber, and River as you continue serving Him together. Amen.
