The Valley Of Doubt

The Valley Of Doubt

Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted!   Matthew 28:16-17

Why We Doubt

Questions We Can’t Answer

We Encounter Situations That Seem Unfair

We Have Unresolved Injury

Our Doubts Don’t Disqualify Our Faith

There’s A Difference Between Faith and Belief

You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?   James 2:19-20

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—    Ephesians 2:8

One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came. They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”   John 20:24-25

Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” he said. Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”“My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.   John 20:26-28

Faith Isn’t The Absence of Doubt. Faith Is The Thing We Use To Push Through It.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.   Psalm 23:4

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.   Romans 5:1-2

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.   Romans 5:8-9
