Father’s Day was a special day at Light On A Hill as we took time to honor all of the men in our church family. While we certainly appreciate our fathers, we also wanted to recognize all of the men who faithfully serve, encourage, and make a difference in the lives of others.
During the service, the men were invited to come forward and stand at the front of the sanctuary. Donna Sprinkle and Amber Loew then presented each man with a black cap featuring the message, “Men of God Make a Difference,” along with a large bag of homemade cookies and sweet treats prepared by the ladies of the church. The smiles on their faces suggested that the cookies may have been just as popular as the caps!
The gift fit perfectly with Pastor Tommy’s message that morning, “What Every Man Leaves Behind.” Drawing from 2 Timothy 1:3-5, the sermon reminded us that the greatest legacy we leave is not found in possessions or accomplishments, but in the example, influence, faith, and reputation we pass on to others. Just as Timothy was shaped by the faith of those who came before him, each of us has the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives around us.
We are thankful for the godly men who faithfully serve their families, our church, and our community. Men of God truly do make a difference.
