Hearing God’s Voice
But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. John 10:2-4
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me. John 10:27-28
How to Hear God’s Voice
1. Ask God to speak to you
So the Lord called a third time, and once more Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?” Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy. So he said to Samuel, “Go and lie down again, and if someone calls again, say, ‘Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went back to bed. 1 Samuel 3:8-9
2. Listen to what He says
Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. Jeremiah 33:3
Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.it.” Isaiah 30:21
3. Do what He tells you to do
Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.” Luke 11:28
… “Be still, and know that I am God …” Psalm 46:10
And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. 1 Kings 19:12
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Revelation 3:20 NIV
