The Easter Egg-Stravaganza held the Saturday before Easter in Grapeland City Park was a fantastic community event that brought people of all ages together to celebrate the holiday in a fun and meaningful way. From the moment attendees walked into the park, they were immersed in the story of the resurrection, with scenes set up and actors portraying the Last Supper, Prayer in the Garden, the Cross, and the Resurrection and empty tomb. The accompanying narration helped bring the story to life, and pastors from local churches were on hand to pray with attendees.
After experiencing the story of the resurrection, it was time for the Easter egg hunt, which was divided into age groups to ensure that everyone had a fair chance to find some eggs. With several thousand eggs hidden throughout the park, there was plenty of opportunity for kids to collect as many eggs as they could. And with prize eggs hidden in every age group, there was even more excitement as kids eagerly searched for them.
But the fun didn’t stop there. Drawings were held for some fantastic prizes, including bikes and other great items, and the Easter Bunny was on hand to take photos with the kids. Bounce houses provided even more entertainment, while cookies were available for snacking. With so much to see and do, it’s no wonder that everyone had a great time at the Easter Egg-Stravaganza.
Of course, an event like this doesn’t come together on its own, and it’s important to recognize the many sponsors who helped make it possible. From local churches including Cedar Branch Church, Cowboy Church of Houston County, and First Baptist Church, First Methodist Church, Grace Bible Church, Light On A Hill Church, Mt. Zion Church, and Sunset Christian Church to community organizations like the City of Grapeland, Best Friends, Grapeland Chamber of Commerce, Garden Club and the Grapeland Noon Lions, to businesses like Darling Industries, Platt Heating and Air, Vulcraft and Financial Insurance Services, everyone came together to create a truly special event for the Grapeland community. It’s heartening to see so many people and organizations working together for a common cause, and the Easter Egg-Stravaganza is a great example of what can be achieved when people come together.
The Easter Egg-Stravaganza in Grapeland City Park was a wonderful event that brought the community together to celebrate Easter in a fun and meaningful way. From the story of the resurrection to the Easter egg hunt, the drawings for prizes, and the various activities and snacks available, there was something for everyone to enjoy. And it’s all thanks to the many sponsors who helped make it possible. We can only hope that events like this will continue to bring the Grapeland community together for many years to come.
