Prevailing In Prayer

Prevailing In Prayer

As our nation moves further and further away from God, we now, more than ever need men and women to stand in the gap. We need men and women of God who prevail in the type of prayer that shakes the very foundations of hell. This week Pastor Tommy Sprinkle looks at the life of Daniel as a model for they type of prayer warriors needed today.

The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.    James 5:16-17

Daniel 2:23 I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength. You have told me what we asked of you and revealed to us what the king demanded.”

[The queen mother] said to Belshazzar, “This man Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, has exceptional ability and is filled with divine knowledge and understanding. He can interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.”   Daniel 5:10;12

So at last the king gave orders for Daniel to be arrested and thrown into the den of lions. The king said to him, “May your God, whom you serve so faithfully, rescue you.”   Daniel 6:16

I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.   Ezekiel 22:30

So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.    Daniel 9:3

O Lord, we and our kings, princes, and ancestors are covered with shame because we have sinned against you.   Daniel 9:8

O my God, lean down and listen to me. Open your eyes and see our despair. See how your city—the city that bears your name—lies in ruins. We make this plea, not because we deserve help, but because of your mercy.   Daniel 9:18
