The members of Light On A Hill gathered on Christmas Eve to take time to remember the real meaning of Christmas. We began by singing some traditional Christmas Carols. The congregation then participated in a reading of Scripture along with Pastor Tommy and Pastor Jesse.
Pastor Tommy brought a short devotion based on the vine and the branches. He reminded us that Jesus is the true vine and all life flows from him.
Following the devotion, we conducted our lighting ceremony. This year members came up one at a time and added a bulb to the tree. We are reminded that we are called to be the light of the world but just like a light bulb cannot produce light without being connected to the cord, we cannot produce light in the world without being connected to Christ.
The evening concluded as we shared a special time together as we took communion.
